IS THERE much to be said about “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” that isn’t explained by the title? Probably not. Based on the book of the same name, the premise is that Abe’s mother was killed by a vampire, which leads him to seek revenge. It’s hard to say whether or not the movie will be successful—it’s a relatively unknown cast, but these “mash-up” books (“Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters” comes to mind) have been incredibly popular. Produced in part by Tim Burton, hot in 3-D (like everything else these days) and with a pretty big budget, judging by the trailer, it seems like the studio is pretty confident in the film’s success. So should they be, or should this concept never have seen the light of day? (Just like vampires!)
Wasn't sure how to go on this one...nothing really here except maybe something to attract that fan base from the Twilight series looking for something new. Not sure if the Burton name will carry this one.
Well well another vampire out there--- Abe Lincoln-- wow--- you know it's a shame that old Abe isn't really here cause maybe he could keep our politicians in tow hey he could suck their blood like they drain us you know our money benefits and such and lets not forget he could keep fighting and wouldn't get killed hell he could probably clean up the fights overseas, all in a nights work. From what I've seen from the trailer he's pretty good with an ax and a gun let's tell him you go first if our president declares another war and let the other vampires follow. I'm pretty sure from the special effects this movie will be a little more than predicted after all I wouldn't tell a lie would you? PS Let's hope he avenges his mom..
Did some trades and sold, but staying the same way on this one. Not sure this one has enough to carry it through. Only time will tell, and let's see how it rides out.
I have put off throwing in my two cents for this movie because my opinion seems so biased. I am a huge fan of the book and this is my personnel most eagerly anticipated movie of the summer. I just can't wait to see it! The book has enough of a following to make this movie premiere strong opening night. I think if the movie is great, many fans will see it again the next night, myself included. Throw in 3D revenue, word of mouth and general curiousity for something original, then it might be a surprise hit. I'm a little worried over it's R rating and that it is opening against Brave. With that considered, I still expect the weekend to be a good split with ALVH doing between $40-$50 million and Brave doing above $50 million.
