THE SECOND highest-grossing film of 2003 (and definitely the most adorable), Finding Nemo is coming back to the big screen. Fans rejoice--this time, it's in 3D! Marlin (Albert Brooks) and Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) are back on the hunt for Nemo (Alexander Gould) in the same movie, just remastered so that we can enjoy it all over again with an extra set of glasses on. We have high hopes for this one: even the new poster looks awesome. Plus, Pixar rarely disappoints (let's collectively forget Cars, shall we?) In terms of the box office, the original film opened at $70 mil, but that was in the summer. We're not anticipating the same reaction here, especially since it's just a re-release, but there are tons of fans out there who we're sure would relish the chance to go back in theatres and see this one again--after all, it's been nine years. The last 3D re-release of a beloved animated classic, The Lion King made a respectable $30M in its opening weekend, and we think this one will be comparable.
This is the one that the parents will take their kids to see since school has started and they need a break and something mindless, silly and fun to heal all that stress of shopping for school stuff The only thing I wonder is why 3D? Does that make this any different don't think so...think this would be just a memorable without everything jumping out of the screen maybe the "powers that be" hope that there are tons of fans that want to see this again and hope that the $$$$$ will be jumping out of their pockets...depends on the advertising so we will have to watch TV and see just how many times this is advertised......
