THIS SUMMER, "Men in Black 3" did time travel the silly way. Now, this fall, "Looper" will do it too - but it won't be all fun and games. From indie director Rian Johnson ("Brick"), "Looper" stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt (in some really strange aging makeup) as a time-traveling assassin in the year 2072, who gets sent back in time by the mob to kill the older version of himself, played by Bruce Willis. Piper Perabo, Jeff Daniels, Paul Dano, and Emily Blunt play supporting roles. Confused yet? It's high-concept stuff, but the action and the stars are bound to draw some audiences. The September release date doesn't bode well, but we think that a reasonable crowd will come out for this--we're betting on a healthy $15M at least.
Well I am "looped and confused" a confusing plot and yep the action and the actors will draw in audiences but not many, maybe a little more than what's predicted This is another film that will be at the local video store a week after it opens. Funny--I thought after watching this trailer and thinking about time traveling which I'm not sure I'd like to do. Would you want to be a "Looper?" and be young and see yourself old? Ya know none of the violence would be necessary to kill your older self cause when you saw yourself "that" old it would just scare you to death.......
