How Much Will "ParaNorman" Gross in its Opening Weekend?

WELL, HERE'S SOMETHING we definitely haven't seen in a while: stop-motion ghosts! From Laika, the studio that made Coraline and Corpse Ghost, comes ParaNorman, a spooky animated feature about a boy (Norman, voiced by Kodi Smit-McPhee) who can see and talk to ghosts. Other voice cast includes Anna Kendrick, John Goodman, Leslie Mann, and Casey Affleck. Stop-motion animated movies have generally done respectably at the box office, especially when specifically targeted to kids; Coraline opened at $16M, Chicken Run at $17M. On the other hand, more "adult" stop-motion movies like Corpse Bride and Fantastic Mr. Fox didn't fare so well, at a woeful $388k and $265k in limited initial release. So will the kids buy in? It depends on the popularity of ghost, monsters, ghouls, et al, in the kid-o-sphere. This may have fared better closer to Halloween, but on the other hand, it stars a real kid (relatability!) and real kids will still be out of school. We think it might make $18M, but single digits are a haunting possibility.

Well this is spooky-a movie about someone who talks to ghost before the those ghosts come out...It's said somewhere that timing is everything and this movie well it's just out at a wrong time. I I were the people who did all that hard work (Hey I saw the trailer how they did all this) I'd be a little scared escpecially since your target audience is kids and it doesn't matter if the kids are still out of school because they are still being bombarded b

ah oh accidently pushed a wrong key to continue they are still being bombarded by blast from that"Dark Knigt" thing and that "Spidey" climbing up and down the wall the kids won't be thinking of ghosts however around Halloween time you will see a lot of kids dressed up like Lex Luther and Spidey and poor old Norman will be at the door saying boo hoo Don't see this making too much more I'll say a little less than the haunting prediction..

I am not sure, but from the buzz I am hearing, this one is supposed to be unique and well-written. I know a few people who are anxious to see this, so I'm hoping on this one that the buzz is what I think it is. My money is down right now, so I need it. We shall see.

The public doesn't know enough about this movie. I don't think it will be that profitable. The only way animated movies get recognized are if they are a part of a franchise, pixar produced, or both.
