How Much Will "Prometheus" Gross in its Opening Weekend?

IT'S BEEN 30 YEARS since the original “Alien” came out, and fifteen since “Alien Resurrection,” the last film in the series. To satisfy those who miss the stomach-tearing little critters, director Ridley Scott brings us “Prometheus,” a prequel to “Alien.” Set in the same universe as the other films but not directly related to them in terms of plot, “Prometheus” explores different ideas and has a different mythos than its predecessors. The film centers around the crew of the Prometheus, who attempt to find the origins of mankind by exploring a distant alien civilization. Obviously, things go wrong. Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender are hot stars (Rapace was the original Swedish "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," and Fassbender is, like, everywhere). Throw in Charlize Theron and a built-in audience, plus a whole new generation of viewers, and we're thinking that “Prometheus” will top the $40M mark, especially since its only competition that weekend is the kiddie movie “Madagascar 3.”

Those numbers, seem within reach, considering the opening weekend numbers for these "Super-Hero"-style movies have grossed recently. Anyone care to say 57+ MULLUON ?

Had to change my bet on this one due to buzz I'm hearing from all around. I know too many people that are excited about this one, though I am not personally. Scared to see how this one comes out, cause I laid down a good little number on this one, but we'll see how it rides out. Maybe I'll make some green here even if again my own original hunches.

Again, even against my own original hunches, felt I had to go deeper on this one. Looking like a sure thing to invest deeply in. Let's see how it plays out.
