THE LOWDOWN: Olympic gold-medalist Dorothy Hamill brings her own personal experience to this spirited tale of Katey O’Hare, a little rabbit who dreams of becoming the best ice skater in the whole wide world. When Katey’s mother surprises her with her first pair of ice skates, she rushes to the local pond – only to discover that skating is not as easy as it looks. Frustrated, Katey wants to give up her dream and never skate again. Her mother, however, convinces her to try again and gives her ice skating lessons with a big burly bear named Mr. Molokoff. The heavily accented Mr. Molokoff, who calls his new student Skatey, teaches her the basics of skating and, as she progresses, many nifty tricks. Most importantly, he teaches the little rabbit that it will take the 4 P’s: Practice, Practice, Practice – and Passion – to realize her dream. With her newfound confidence and skill, Skatey Katey, as she has become known to all, once again dreams of becoming the world’s best ice skater. And for very first time, she believes dreams really can come true.
