DESPITE THE NAME, there's no Jason Bourne (or Matt Damon) in sight in the fourth Bourne installment. Directed and written by Tony Gilroy, who also wrote the first three movies, The Bourne Legacy stars Jeremy Renner as Aaron Cross (who looks like a Jason Bourne-James Bond hybrid here), rogue agent of Operation Outcome (successor to Operation Treadstone of the previous films), Rachel Weisz as Dr. Stephanie Snyder, Edward Norton as CIA Agent Byer, and David Strathairn as Noah Vosen (reprising his role from The Bourne Ultimatum). While they don't actually have Jason Bourne in this one, it still has the franchise's signature action-packed look, the same screenwriter, and many of the same production credits. Jeremy Renner definitely won't bring in the audiences that Matt Damon would, but his supporting role as Hawkeye of very successful The Avengers may lead to some face-recognition, at least. So, while it won't make anywhere near The Bourne Ultimatum's $69M opening weekend, we're pretty sure that all the hardcore thriller/action junkies will be coming out for this one.
Uh there are so many hardcore thriller action junkies out there that they will have a difficult time choosing what to watch in this summer of re runs I still say where is the new? Do these screenwriters have writers block or just no imagination. Anyway yep action sells...and this I don't feel will make quite as much as the original but feel it will come close..depends on which action adventure the action junkies choose..
