THE MARKET: Will “Kid Nation” be renewed by CBS for the fall season? If the show is renewed for the fall, shares are worth $100. If it isn’t, they’re worth $0. Trading will close when a final announcement is made by CBS, or by June 11, whichever comes first. See TV confirmation guidelines.
THE LOWDOWN: “Kid Nation” entered the national dialogue due to questions surrounding its legality (those pesky child-labor laws). The prevailing sentiment was that casting children in a reality show (especially one where they handled bleach and matches) had to violate some law. At least one set of parents is hoping public sentiment is right. Will CBS renew “Kid Nation” for a second season?
THE PR: Andy Denhart at msnbc.com says her feelings for “Kid Nation” aside, she expects it to be on the outside looking in come fall. Apparently the “Kid Nation” petition can only get you so far.
