NOTE: We thought we’d let you have fun with a few season finale markets at Media Predict. Play at your own risk: final judgment on all finale markets will be determined solely by Media Predict administrators.
THE MARKET: Will Michael Scott still be the regional manager of the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin at the end of season four of “The Office”? If Media Predict determines Michael Scott will remain in his position, shares are worth $100. If we determine that he has been transferred, been fired or has resigned, shares are worth $100. Trading will close immediately before the season finale on May 15.
THE LOWDOWN: Up to this point in his Dunder Mifflin career, Michael Scott (Steve Carrell) has kept his job through thick and thin. Change, however, is coming to Scranton. NBC has announced that a spin-off of the much-loved series will begin airing in early 2009. Carrell’s cohort Jenna Fischer says neither she nor Carrell will be jettisoned to the new show. But that’s no guarantee that the Dunder Mifflin forces will let Michael be the boss at the end of the season. Will he hang on another year? Make the call.
THE PR: “The Office” is back and as big as ever. According to Reuters, its post-strike ratings scored a new high for the year.
