From this book’s first day of trading, it has held pretty steady in the vicinity of 60 to 70 dollars per share. In the past 24 hours it has shot up almost 30 dollars per share and doubled its trade volume. Why, today, did so many people decide this book was brilliant? Fishy.
perhaps it shot up because people that were not aware of this means of looking at potential books were made aware & after reading about the books & their authors & illuatrators thought “Bunny” should get their vote.
No way! This will have no appeal to children. Those who are young enough to enjoy a book with this ratio of pictures to text won’t get it. Perhaps the author is making a veiled attempt at explaining sexual confusion, or even more mundane kinds of identity confusion, such as ethnicity. But the subject matter, whatever is meant, is too complex for the likely audience. “Topic” books for young children are about more overt problems— bullying, new baby sister, etc. So— no thanks!
I totally disagree with Spinspin! I think McFoo will be a huge hit and I absolutely ADORE the illustrations. I can’t wait for it to be published so I can get it for all my friends who are having kids. I don’t think you have to dumb our kids down with “bullying” books. I plan on giving my kid more credit than that! I hope it goes all the way – GO GO Bunny McFoo — I am already a fan!! PS – I just invested most of my money on McFoo – I hope there is no speculataion of anything “fishy” going on!!!
