THE MARKET: Will “Amnesia” on NBC make it to a fifth episode? The reality show will premiere on Friday, February 22 at 9:00 p.m. ET. before moving to its regular time slot Fridays at 8:00 p.m. ET on Friday, February 29. Trading will close after a third episode is aired. If a fifth episode airs, shares are worth $100. If it doesn’t, they’re worth $0. See TV confirmation guidelines.
THE LOWDOWN: Dennis Miller will host “Amnesia,” yet another Mark Burnett production, which according to the network is “an exhilarating, original comedy game show where contestants’ memories will be tested and unexpected blasts from the past will be revealed as contestants wrack their brains to answer some of the most challenging questions posed to them by family and their closest friends.”
THE PR: The folks at Cinema Blend aren’t wildly enthusiastic about yet another strike-induced game show, but they aren’t ready to sell it down the river either. They say, “The glut of darkly-lit game shows on the air is going to make it difficult for Amne$ia to stand out from the pack. Even having Mark Burnett attached isn’t a sure bet for success. Granted, he created Survivor and The Apprentice, but he’s also responsible for The Casino and the more recent expensive disaster, On The Lot. But who knows? The guy who was able to make ‘Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader’ into a successful show isn’t somebody I would bet against.”
