THE
MARKET: Ocean’s Thirteen goes into wide release on Friday, June 8, 2007. How much will it gross domestically in its opening weekend as last reported by Variety magazine by the end of Monday, June 11? Each dollar of the share price represents millions of dollars in sales. Shares bought at $15, for example, would be worth $39 if the movie grosses $39 million.
THE LOWDOWN: So not everyone was wild about Ocean’s Twelve. “The whole thing is a piffle of fluff,” said one Washington Post reviewer. “About halfway through you’ll get an incredible hunger to see a movie.” So will Ocean’s Thirteen right the ship of the Rat-Pack franchise? It has all of the A-list stars – including Brad Pitt with a bizarre beard – but unfortunately this one lacks the obligatory cameo by Topher Grace.
THE PR: From Warner Bros.: “In the new sequel to Ocean’s Eleven and Ocean’s Twelve, the cast is reunited with director Steven Soderbergh and producer Jerry Weintraub. Joining the cast for the new adventure are Al Pacino and Ellen Barkin.” Also, see the Ocean’s Thirteen home page.
